We imported Rio all the way from Malabo APD Rhodesians in Brazil!! We got this boy after my husband decided he wanted a ridgie of his very own! He was tired of watching my girls follow me everywhere. He wanted his own 'Rhodesian shadow', as I call them. Now he has him, and Rio does a pretty good job of following his daddy around. He does stop by often though to have a nice long nap on my lap! He doesn't realize how big he is!  I remember holding him in my lap on the way home from the airport! Now, he has to ride in the back of my Yukon since he's too big to even ride in the seat without smushing the rest of us! 

Rio is a big sweet boy and he's also a bit of a goof. He keeps us laughing at his crazy antics. He gets the "zoomies" and goes flying around the yard jumping OVER the girls and the game is on! It still surprises me that a dog as big as him can move so fast and gracefully! We like to take Rio with us to car shows or motorcycle shows. He loves it too and is always on the look out for baby strollers. Why? Well because there's ALWAYS crumbs to be found there... and sticky little faces and fingers. ; )

But don't let all that fool ya. Rio does a great job protecting our home and family. His looks alone are enough to scare away nearly any kind of trouble and if he actually barks... look out! We all feel very safe with Rio around. Well, unless we're standing between him and his food dish. You know the saying "Don't be on the tracks when a train's coming through."? That's Rio at dinner time. This boy LOVES his chow!

Rio will be hitting the show scene again in November at the RRCUS Supported Show in Ocala. We can't wait to see how he does and we'll be sure to post his results, so check back often!
