Tazer's Story...
(May 14th 2007)
Tazer came to us when his owners could no longer keep him. The family's young son (under 1 year old) developed severe allergies to Tazer and was having a lot of trouble breathing with him around. So they had to make the VERY hard decision of giving Tazer up. They were having a hard time finding a family who would love and treasure Tazer as they had but they were running out of time as their son's symptoms were progressing. So, I decided to take Tazer in myself and continue the search for his forever home.
Tazer is a beautiful 4 1/2 year old, AKC registered, male, German Shepherd. He was the constant companion of the family's 3 year old daughter. He slept with her at night and stood "guard" at her bed. He even laid in the bathroom floor while she was getting her bath every night. He was very devoted to his entire family.
Right now Tazer is scared and is a little skittish with my other dogs as he has never played with dogs his size, let alone a few who are bigger than him! He has started bonding to me and I am learning he has a very goofy side to his personality! He is a very smart dog and knows basic obedience commands in German. He is house broken and walks beautifully on a leash. With time, patience, understanding and of course love, Tazer will make a great family companion.
I would like to find Tazer a home with a family who is familiar with his breed and dog behavior. He would be a wonderful candidate for obedience trials and even Schutzhund, as he was bred for this purpose. If you are interested in Tazer, please email me for more info. Well things didn't work out for Tazor in his new home and his previous owners have decided to take him back and make the best of their situation. We are so happy they made that choice and we KNOW that Tazor is happy about it. Good luck guys!

Tazer has a new furever family! He was adopted by Jennifer and Lance of Brandon, FL. Jennifer and Lance have a 16 year old daughter and an 8 year old son who are going to LOVE Tazer to death. My youngest daughter is going to miss him more than any of us as Tazer chose her as his MOST favorite, but we will all miss him terribly. How could you not miss such a sweet, sweet boy! We're sure Tazer will love his new family and we will hear stories of him and see pictures all the time!

Sassy and Cheyenne's story...
(2006)
Sassy was recently taken in when her owner (of 6 years) got a new job and had to move to a place that did not allow this gentle giant. Sassy was purchased by her owner at 8 wks and was soon joined by her buddy, Cheyenne. Cheyenne is a redbone coonhound mix. They are both 6 years old and we would LOVE to find a home that could keep them together, as that is all they have ever known.
Sassy was awarded the Canine Good Citizen award by the AKC, which means she was obedience trained and tested to prove she is a very good citizen. Sassy is registered with the AKC, but has been spayed. Cheyenne has been tested and certified as a Therapy Dog, which is very impressive! Cheyenne may be a coonhound mix and is not AKC registered. She too has been spayed.
Sassy is severely overweight. She was allowed to "free feed" which meant her bowl was always full. If you know anything about Ridgebacks, you know that this approach to feeding does not work! Sassy is currently around 150 pounds! Sassy is very tall and should probably way around 100-110 pounds, so she has a lot of work to do. Anyone interested in Sassy and Cheyenne must be prepared to keep Sassy on a STRICT diet to get her weight down. Exercise must also be monitored while she is still so heavy. Cheyenne is not overweight. Both dogs are understandably nervous right now and we will work to socialize and comfort them as much as possible. They are currently living with my very good friend Kim Green, on 5 acres of doggie heaven! They will stay there until the right home is found, however long that may take!

Update!
(May 2007)
Sassy will be staying with Kim. After many months of working with Sassy, she is now comfortable at Kim's home with everyone who comes to visit, but Kim does not wish to put her through the same ordeal again so has decided Sassy will live out her days with Kim and her pack of Ridgebacks. Cheyenne is still available for adoption! She is a very sweet girl and would do wonderful work as a therapy dog. If you are interested in Cheyenne, please contact Kim Green.
