As you may have guessed, we are taking our inspiration from the puppies dad...Maverick. Of course he isn't a Top Gun but he is a Top Dog! Riley is just as good as he is so the theme is fitting!  Maverick and Riley have made us very proud with their beautiful brood. 8 gorgeous girls and 3 handsome boys! All the puppies are ridged with no excessive white and no dermoids detected so far! We are sure this is going to be a beautiful litter! For now though, their only job is eat and sleep and so far they are "Top Guns" at that! Introducing... The puppies are growing like crazy and now have their eyes open. That's a good thing as it's hard to fly a fighter jet with your eyes closed! To be honest, they wouldn't make very good pilots right now anyway. Even with their eyes open, their vision is still pretty bad. All they need to be able to see right now is mom and dinner! It will get better very fast though and soon they will be exploring their world!
Also, the puppies have been assigned their call names. These are just names for identification and their new families will most likely change them once they leave puppy boot camp! |

The Fighter Pilots are getting around much better now and they are better able to see the world around them. They happily bark and yip almost constantly. |

The pups have started eating on their own and they sure love it! Mom loves cleaning them up afterwards too! They will really start to get chunky now!
They are more active every day and are constantly working on their motor skills and learning how to master the bark, growl and yip too! They will start to work out their order in the pack even at this young age. Mom is still the queen bee and will be for a long time to come. She is teaching them important things about how to be a dog and believe it or not, these are important things to learn even if they will be in an only dog family! All of their lessons cross over to us and make them better companions in the long run! It will still be a couple weeks before their personality is evident to us which is why puppies are not chosen for each family until then. It is very important to match the right puppy to the right family! Stay tuned for next week! |

The puppies are only a couple weeks from going to their new homes. To practice, they went...outside. OK, not very far, but new to them! They loved every minute. Check out the pictures of the pilots in training!

The puppies are growing like weeds and developing great little personalities! They are enjoying lots of time outside to romp and play and explore. Mom is still checking in with them throughout the day but they are no longer dependent on mom for food...and she is very grateful for that! Mom has taught them lots of great lessons about being good little puppies. We know they are going to make their new families very proud of them! |
