All About Lexi

We got Lexi when she was 18 months old. Her owner's son developed severe allergies to Lexi and they were so sad to have to give her up. We went to pick her up from the airport and when she came out of her crate I had to laugh! Lexi was... shall we say, a little (really a LOT) overweight! Her previous owners had loved her a lot and she got all kinds of good stuff to eat. So, we had to put her on a diet. I worried at first that she thought she was on some weird episode of the "Biggest (dog) Loser", but before we knew it, she was fit and trim!

Lexi is the social butterfly of the group. She has yet to meet a person she doesn't love. She thinks all of our visitors are there JUST to see and love on her! They really don't get any sweeter than Lexi Lou!

Lexi spends every night in my 5 year old's bed and she LOVES her girls! Case and point... My daughters went away for a weekend and Lexi developed a very strange limp. It got so bad after a couple of days I planned to take her to the vet. That same night my daughters came home and SURPRISE the limp went away!

Lexi also LOVES to lure course. So much so that she nearly dislocated my arm when I didn't take heed to the "Hold your hounds" call one day. I was on my rump in a second!

Stay tuned and check out the News Flash page for Lexi's adventures in Lure Coursing!

Updates

October 28, 2006
Lexi earned her second leg of her JC at Blazing Jack kennels in Yalaha, FL. We were so proud of our girl. More lure coursing to come for this passionate courser for sure! She just LOVES it!

September 16 & 17, 2006

Lexi went to her first lure coursing trial! She's never even been to practice before! I had a feeling she'd know just what to do and I was right! When that "bunny" came by, Lexi was all over it. When it came her turn to run Lexi took off like a bullet and got her first leg of her JC title. On day 2, we tried again, but I think Lexi was a little sore from the first day and didn't run the whole course. Don't worry, we know this girl is just like her daddy... a coursing fool! She'll get another chance real soon. Check out the pictures on Lexi's pics page.
